A download page should identify the destination host, explain whether the directory or a third party controls it and show the last verification date. A direct link is not proof that a file is official or safe.
Evidence we aim to record
When available, the page should include file name, size, package name, version, minimum Android version, SHA-256 hash, signing-certificate context and a dated malware-scan reference. Missing fields remain explicitly unverified.
- Never label an untested APK safe
- Do not hide the destination behind shortened links
- Remove links associated with impersonation or unexplained redirects
- Recheck after a file or host changes
User safety
Review Android permissions before installation, enable unknown-app installation only for the necessary app and disable it afterward. Never send identity documents, OTPs, UPI PINs or passwords to obtain a download.
